In this photograph, taken March 26, 1979, President Jimmy Carter clasps hands with President Anwar Sadat of Egypt and Prime Minister Menachem Begin of Israel at the signing of the Egyptian-Israeli Peace Treaty on the North Lawn. The peace treaty was the result of much communication, including two weeks of negotiation overseen by President Carter at Camp David in September 1978.

This photograph is part of a collection belonging to former White House Executive Chef Henry Haller. Haller catered to five first families and their distinguished guests as executive chef at the White House from 1966-1987.
