The first Democrat to be elected president after the Civil War, Cleveland served two non-consecutive presidential terms from 1885 – 1889 and from 1893 -1897. In June 1886, Cleveland became the first president to be married in the White House when he wed 21-year-old Frances Folsom in the Blue Room.
