This dessert was prepared by White House Executive Pastry Chef Roland Mesnier for a dinner held in honor of Greek president Kostis Stephanopoulos on May 9, 1996, during the Bill Clinton administration. Mesnier paid homage to President Stephanopoulos' country with white chocolate columns draped with décor chocolate flags. In front of the columns was a marbleized dome made with lemon sorbet filled with honey parfait and ringed with raspberries on top of halved strawberries. As a finishing touch he poured dark chocolate on platters and decorated with the Greek key motif in royal icing.
