Among those in attendance were the president and first lady's son, Donnell "Jeff" Carter, daughter-in-law Annette Carter, and daughter Amy Carter. Vice presidents have traditionally lived at their official residence at Number One Observatory Circle since Vice President Mondale moved into the house with his family in 1977.
