Biden and First Lady Dr. Jill Biden selected "We the People" as the 2022 holiday theme. The decor was inspired by Americans' shared values and sentiments of hope, unity, and community. Towers of candles and stained-glass windows filled the room, providing a space for quiet reflection and representing the comfort and light found in faith. The Red Room display also featured cranberries, a tradition dating back to 1975, and orchids, one of Dr. Biden's favorite flowers.
