Service Plate, Dessert Plate, and Cream Soup Cup and Saucer, Johnson State Service, White House Collection
These porcelain serving pieces, including a service plate, a dessert plate, and a cream soup cup and saucer, were designed by Tiffany and Company and manufactured by Castleton China of New Castle, Pennsylvania, between 1968 and 1972. The pieces, part of the state dinner service of the Lyndon B. Johnson administration, feature a border of gold dots and hand-painted decorations. The eagle that appears on the plate was modeled after the version of the arms of the United States that decorated President James Monroe's 1817 dessert service.
