Harding welcomed several prominent members of the American Indian community at the White House including Chief Plenty Coups (Alaxchíia Ahú) from the Crow nation, and Chief Buffalo Bear and Princess Buffalo Bear of the Sioux nation. The East Garden is partially visible on the right side of this photograph. The garden was rededicated as the Jacqueline Kennedy Garden in 1965 by First Lady Lady Bird Johnson.
