Haley of the Virginia Conference of the Methodist Episcopal Church, South. Haley was a former housemate of Nixon's while they were both enrolled at the Duke University School of Law. Raised in a devout Quaker household, President Nixon regularly hosted worship services on Sunday mornings in the East Room.
