This photograph of the North Portico decorations was taken by David Wiegold on December 2, 2024 during a press preview of the White House holiday decorations. President Joseph R. Biden and First Lady Dr. Jill Biden selected "A Season of Peace and Light" as the 2024 holiday theme. For President and Dr. Biden’s final winter holiday season at the White House, the décor was inspired by the spirit of goodwill and gratitude and the festive opening of the doors to the President’s House. A large wreath was placed atop the pediment of the North Portico—an addition to the exterior holiday decorations that Dr. Biden oversaw for the first time in 2021—alongside smaller wreaths in the windows.

This composite is made of fashion plates showing mourning wear, an illustration of the President Abraham's Lincoln lying in state in the East Room of the White House, and the North Portico draped in black cloth in mourning for President James Garfield. The image was used for the digital exhibit called "Black Cloth: Mourning Dress and Drapery at the White House." It may only be used for press and publicity purposes related to the exhibit. All other uses must be approved by the White House Historical Association in writing.

This photograph features a crowd of families and visitors gathered outside the White House in Lafayette Park on April 10, 2023. At the White House that day was the annual White House Easter Egg Roll. The theme for the 2023 White House Easter Egg Roll, which was hosted by President Joseph R. Biden and First Lady Dr. Jill Biden, was a return of "EGGucation," which Dr. Biden also selected in 2022. Activities at the annual celebration included the traditional Easter egg roll and egg hunt, special guest readers in the reading nook, costumed characters, food, and arts and crafts, among other educational activities.
