Winfield House is the residence of the United States ambassador to the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland. President and Mrs. Obama hosted the dinner in honor of Queen Elizabeth II of Great Britain and Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh (pictured next to Mrs. Obama) following a State Banquet hosted by the royal couple at Buckingham Palace the previous evening. The two dinners were a part of President Obama's two day State Visit to the United Kingdom.

Hebert on July 28, 2012, First Lady Michelle Obama cheers on the United States Olympic team during the swimming finals and medal ceremonies at the Olympic Park Aquatics Center during the 2012 Summer Olympic Games in London, Great Britain. The first lady led the presidential delegation to the opening ceremony of the 2012 Olympic Games, and also attended an Olympic men's basketball competition between the United States and France. During her visit to the United Kingdom, the first lady also hosted a "Let's Move-London" event at the Winfield House, and met with Queen Elizabeth II for a reception at Buckingham Palace.

In this photograph, President Richard M. Nixon and First Lady Pat Nixon meet with Queen Elizabeth II and Prime Minister Edward Heath of Great Britain. The Nixons met Queen Elizabeth Prime Minister Heath at Chequers, the Buckinghamshire country residence for the sitting prime minister. The visit followed a June 1970 visit to the White House by Prince Charles and Princess Anne.
