    State Dinner
In this photograph by James P. Blair, White House Chief Floral Designer Elmer M. "Rusty" Young is seen working on a tabletop flower arrangement in the State Dining Room. The occasion for the formal table setting and flower arrangement was the State Dinner held in honor of Prime Minister Indira Gandhi of India. China from the Harry S. Truman state service was used for the event. President Lyndon B. Johnson and First Lady Lady Bird Johnson welcomed Gandhi to the White House on March 28, 1966.
