This selection of the 200th anniversary china was made by Lenox China of Trenton, New Jersey. President Bill Clinton and First Lady Hillary Clinton selected a state service with this design to celebrate the White House's 200th anniversary in 2000. Features in the photo from left to right across the back are a dessert plate, dinner plate, service late, fish plate and a salad plate. In front left to right are a cream soup cup and saucer, a teacup and its accompanying saucer.

These French porcelain serving pieces, including a dinner dish, vegetable dish, soup plate, dessert stand, fruit basket, and dessert plate, were made for the White House by Edouard D. Honoré of Paris in 1846. President James K. Polk ordered this pattern for the state service. The pieces feature gilded rims molded in a scroll design and light green details, as well as a version of the shield from the Great Seal of the United States, although this one contains stars in the chief which are not present on the Great Seal or Presidential Seal, and the scroll containing the motto "E Pluribus Unum." The dessert plates also included a large, hand-painted flower.

This photograph shows a trio of holiday desserts served atop a plate from the Ronald Reagan state service. At right is a three-layer chocolate cake, topped with a marzipan ribbon to resemble a gift. Immediately left of the cake is a piped rosette of chestnut mousse served atop a drizzle of raspberry sauce. At top is a chocolate Christmas tree decorated with ornaments made of royal icing and a marzipan star. The desserts were likely prepared by White House Executive Pastry Chef Roland Mesnier. Mesnier joined the White House Kitchen in 1979 and retired in 2004.

This photograph of the President's Dining Room was taken by Robert L. Knudsen on January 31, 1962, following First Lady Jacqueline Kennedy's refurbishment of the Second Floor. The table is set with china from the Benjamin Harrison service with bread plates from the Franklin D. Roosevelt service. The room is furnished with American Federal style furniture donated to the White House Collection in 1961 and 1962. The President’s Dining Room is located on the Second Floor of the White House. Originally a bedroom, the space was converted to a private dining room, where the first family usually gathers for breakfast and lunch. The room also features a panoramic wallpaper entitled "Views of the American War of Independence" by Jean Zuber et Cie which features events from the American Revolution against the backdrop of natural landmarks.

This glassware was part of a set ordered by President John F. Kennedy and First Lady Jacqueline Kennedy in 1961 from the Morgantown Glassware Guild of Morgantown, West Virginia. The purchase of the elegant, simple set ended a long tradition of engraved glassware at the White House. The glassware became widely popular as many Americans purchased the same set for their households.

This photograph of White House curator William G. Allman in the State Dining Room was taken by Matthew D’Agostino on April 27, 2015, during the Barack Obama administration. At a press preview ahead of the State Dinner held in honor of Prime Minister Shinzō Abe of Japan, Allman discussed the Obama’s recently revealed state china service. The Japan State Dinner would be the first official occasion where the Obama state service was used. The service included 11 pieces per setting and was designed with a modern aesthetic that was compatible and interchangeable with other historic services in the White House Collection. In a nod toward President Obama’s upbringing in Hawaii, several pieces in the service are complimented with bands of “Kailua blue”. Allman served as curator from 2002-2017.
